Terms of Service
The agreement between your family and Brainy Bees, in plain English
Last updated: 20 October 2026
These terms are a starting draft, not legal advice. Have a solicitor review them before public launch, alongside the Privacy Policy.
Who we are
Brainy Bees is run by Techralis Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17445980), whose registered office is at 33 Oakdene Park, London, England, N3 1EU. In these terms "we" and "us" means Techralis Ltd, and "you" means the parent or guardian who holds the account.
You can reach a person at hello@brainybees.com. Every email we send can be replied to, and replies are read.
Who can use Brainy Bees
Accounts are for parents and legal guardians aged 18 or over. You add a profile for each child, and your child uses Brainy Bees through your account, never with an account of their own. You are responsible for what happens on your account, including keeping your password and any kid-mode PIN private.
How we collect and use your family's information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
Plans and prices
Every child gets Level 1 of every subject and the placement quiz free, for as long as you have an account.
Paid plans are per child: the Digital plan unlocks every level, Reading Comprehension and Review Quest; the Mail plan includes everything in Digital plus a printed Maths and English worksheet pack posted every two weeks, to UK addresses only. Current prices are shown on our Pricing page and on the Membership screen. The price shown before you pay is the price you are charged.
Your price is locked in. If we raise the price of a plan, families already on it keep paying the price they signed up at for as long as that child's plan stays active. The new price only applies to new subscriptions, or if you cancel and later start again.
If we ever have to change what you pay for a reason outside our control, such as a change in VAT, we will email you at least 30 days before it affects you, and you can cancel before then without paying the new amount.
Free trial
Each child can have one free month of the Digital plan. We do not take a card for the trial, so it cannot turn into a paid plan on its own. We email you 3 days before the trial ends and again on the day it ends. When it ends, your child goes back to the free plan unless you choose to subscribe, and all of their progress is kept.
Payment, renewal and receipts
Payments are taken by our payment provider, Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
Paid plans renew automatically every month, on the same date as you first subscribed, until you cancel. We email a receipt for every payment, and a renewal reminder at least every six months showing the date, the amount and how to cancel.
If a payment fails, we email you and your child keeps full access for 7 days while the card is retried. If the payment still has not gone through by then, your child moves to the free plan until it does. Nothing is deleted.
Cancelling
You can cancel a child's plan at any time, from Membership in the app (choose "Cancel" on that child's card). You can also email hello@brainybees.com from your account email address asking us to cancel, and we will do it the same day.
When you cancel, you will not be charged again. Your child keeps access until the end of the period you have already paid for, then moves to the free plan. We email you a cancellation confirmation straight away; keep it as your record. Cancelling never deletes your child's progress.
Refunds
If you change your mind, you can cancel within 14 days of first subscribing a child to a paid plan and we will refund that first payment in full. This is your legal right to cancel, and it applies even if your child has started using the plan.
If a renewal ever catches you out, tell us within 7 days of the payment. If your child hasn't used the plan since it renewed, we will refund that payment in full.
For either, just reply to any Brainy Bees email or write to hello@brainybees.com. We will always look at any other refund request fairly. Nothing in these terms affects your other legal rights as a consumer.
Pausing a plan
If your child hasn't used a paid plan for a while, we may offer to pause payments for a month. During a pause you are not charged and your child keeps their access. Billing restarts on its own when the pause ends. Only one pause can be active at a time.
The Mail plan
The Mail plan is available for UK postal addresses only, and needs a complete address before you can subscribe. Packs are posted every two weeks. If a pack does not arrive, tell us and we will put it right. Printing worksheets at home stays free on every plan.
Using Brainy Bees fairly
Brainy Bees is for your family's own learning. Please do not copy, resell or republish our questions, worksheets or other content, try to get around plan limits, or interfere with how the service works. Worksheets you print are for use within your household.
If an account is misused, we may suspend it. Unless the misuse is serious or unlawful, we will tell you first and give you the chance to put it right.
Our content and marking
Our questions follow the UK curriculum and are checked before children see them. If you or your child think a question or a mark is wrong, email us and we will look at it. Brainy Bees supports your child's learning; we cannot promise particular test or exam results.
Changes to Brainy Bees and to these terms
We keep improving Brainy Bees, which sometimes means changing features. We will not remove a progress report or measure you rely on to follow your child's learning without telling you in the app at least 30 days beforehand, with the reason.
If we make a change to these terms that matters to you, we will email you at least 30 days before it applies to your account. If you do not agree with it, you can cancel before it takes effect.
Our responsibility to you
We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for loss that was not foreseeable, or for business losses: Brainy Bees is for household use.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
Closing your account
You can delete your account at any time from the bottom of Settings. This cancels any active plan, deletes every child profile and all of their data, and deletes your account. It cannot be undone. You can also delete a single child's profile from that child's screen.
Complaints and the law that applies
If something has gone wrong, please email hello@brainybees.com first; we would much rather put it right than argue about it.
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring proceedings in your local courts, and the mandatory consumer protections of where you live still apply.
